Elena Vasilaki has a broad interdisciplinary background & is active both as a professional and researcher in multiple fields (engineering, urban planning, cultural management, curatorial services, pedagogy, sustainability & leadership) with publications and collaborations. She maintains businesses in Corfu and collaborates with institutions & individuals as a curator of museum exhibitions/collections, content creator as well as a professional civil engineer (indicative: Europeana, Kizhi Museum, FMA, Ionian Islands Museums Network, Museum Collections of the Ionian University, Museum of D.Solomon & E.P.Z, Oral History Groups, etc.). In recent years, she has been creating programs that delve into the issues of sustainability, inclusiveness and participatory activities (Accessibility Engineer Auditor, Certified Mentor-Energy Consultant, Sustainability Specialist, Island Innovation Ambassador 2023). Her project " Monumental and Modern city connected: culture as a springboard for the essential staple of parallel development axes in Corfu Island ", has been distinguished many times (CultUp 2019, 5th ESDIAPOK Conference, ICOM 2020 International Conference) while she has also been awarded as a Museum Educator (Europeana Educational Competition 2020-2021, STEM). Last but not least since the preparation of Ionian Islands Museums Network, she contributes voluntarily as the coordinator of the Curatorial Team.
